Our Sunday service is more than just a gathering; it's an opportunity to find peace and inspiration for the week ahead. It’s a chance to connect with God and with others in a warm and welcoming environment.

We believe in the power of community, and we strive to meet needs with love and support—from our compassionate food pantry ministry to our youth and women's groups. Our doors are open to everyone, no matter where you are on your spiritual journey.

Come as you are, and discover a church that truly cares for its community. Join us for Sunday School at 9:30 AM and our Worship Service at 10:45 AM. We look forward to meeting you and sharing God’s love with you.

  • When: Wednesdays 7:00 PM CST

  • 605.313.5744

We would love for you to join us for our weekly prayer conference call!

This is a dedicated time for our community to come together in faith and support through prayer. During these calls, we lift up the needs of our pantry, our volunteers, the individuals and families we serve, and our broader community.

It's a moment to seek guidance, offer thanks, and stand in unity, nurturing the spiritual foundation of our compassionate ministry.

We believe in the power of collective prayer to bring hope, understanding, and unwavering support to those facing challenges.

First Baptist Church Swan is excited to announce the launch of its new Pen Pal Ministry, an initiative dedicated to offering hope, encouragement, and a vital connection to individuals incarcerated in the Texas prison system. This program aims to bridge the gap between those within prison walls and the supportive Christian community outside.

The Pen Pal Ministry is a powerful testament to FBC Swan's commitment to extending God's love and grace to all, especially those often overlooked by society. Studies and countless testimonies highlight the profound positive impact that correspondence can have on incarcerated individuals:

  • Reduces Isolation: Prisoners often experience extreme loneliness and isolation, which can hinder personal growth. A pen pal offers a lifeline to the outside world.

  • Fosters Positive Relationships: Consistent, encouraging letters can build healthy relationships, providing a sense of worth and belonging.

  • Promotes Rehabilitation: A supportive correspondent can encourage personal reflection, inspire positive change, and offer a sense of accountability and hope for a better future.

  • Reduces Recidivism: Connections to faith-based communities and positive outside influences have been shown to significantly reduce the likelihood of re-offending after release.

  • Shares the Message of Hope: For FBC Swan, it's an opportunity to share the transformative message of Christ's love and redemption.

"Our Pen Pal Ministry is about embodying the words of Matthew 25:36, 'I was in prison and you came to visit me'," said Pastor Jeremiah Dollgener. "Even through written word, we can extend compassion, remind individuals of their inherent value, and share the hope that is found in a relationship with God. This ministry offers a unique and meaningful way for our congregation to live out our faith."

FBC Swan is now actively seeking dedicated volunteers from within the congregation to become pen pals. Comprehensive guidelines and support will be provided to ensure a safe, respectful, and impactful correspondence experience for all participants. Volunteers will learn about appropriate communication, confidentiality, and the boundaries that ensure the integrity of the ministry.

How You Can Get Involved: Individuals interested in learning more about becoming a pen pal or supporting this vital ministry are invited to contact the Church Office or visit the ministry sign-up table after Sunday services. Training and orientation sessions will be scheduled for all new volunteers.

We believe this ministry will be a source of immense blessing, not only for the incarcerated individuals but also for our volunteers who choose to share their hearts and faith.
